When is the last time that you took a kid free vacation with your spouse?
Prior to our trip this past week to Miami to attend Blogalicious 9, the old man and I had not really been away without our 3 kids in tow since our honeymoon. And then there was only one kid.
Unless you count us coming to Raleigh last year when we spent our honeymoon checking out neighborhoods and looking into school districts, as a vacation, it’s been a good long while.
While I knew that heading to Miami was really a workation, it would also double as time alone without the responsibility of parenting for a few days.
As we made our way around the crowded, and rainy, streets of Miami, we did it in style, in the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
This crossover vehicle is perfect for the single or couple who likes having SUV space with the MPG’s of a sedan, or the family of up to 4.
Great on gas mileage, loaded with features, and ready for adventure!
The only thing better than getting away kid free is having the chance to do it in style packaged with functionality.
3 Things to Do When You Go On a Kid Free Vacation
Leave the responsibilities of home at home until you get back to them. Trust me when I say they will wait for you!
Leave your children with someone whom you trust and enjoy not having the responsibilities that parenting brings. Worry about the bills, house repairs, and adulting when you get back home.
Get out and shift gears!
Enjoy the company of one another. Have meaningful conversations where you talk about goals, dreams, your relationship and tune in to each other.
Take this time to either relight or add fuel to the flame that is your love.
A while back, I shared with you the Mitsubishi Outlander, which was more aligned with having my whole crew in tow, with features like 7 passenger seating. Contrarily, the Sport was perfect for me and the hubby’s working BAE-cation.
Not only was it good for getting us through the jammed packed Miami traffic, it also gave the perfect space for us to sit on the rooftop of the hotel’s garage and take in the Miami Skyline. All from the trunk of the Outlander!
Go full-on YOLO (you only live once). Responsibly of course. Don’t go out spending the rent and bill money, but truly enjoy yourselves and create lasting memories.
On our last day in Miami, the old man and I jumped in the Outlander rode out to South Beach and took a nice stroll along the beach! On the way back, we pulled over on the side of the road for me to stop and capture the skyline from across the water!
So the point is this… drive something you love, with someone you love and love the life you have, together!
