If you are anything like me, your fitness journey is an ever evolving one.
Mine, it’s like an on again, off again dating relationship.
Are you vowing to get fit in the new year?
It might be the beginning of a new year. But I ain’t new to this.
If you follow me on instagram (and if you don’t you can here), you may have known that my parents were in town for the holidays. If you checked out my stories, I shared all the food this woman was cooking up or having me cook while she was here.
You may also know that I am a mama’s girl, through and through.
My momma sabotaged my whole fitness endeavors I started after Thanksgiving in just ten days. Actually in her first three days of being here.
But it shol was GOOD though…
Thank god I had shed a few pounds before she got here, cause I would have been that much further in the trenches had I not.
Every so often I find that I have gained weight and wanna fight and push to loose it as pants stop buckling or sliding up over my dunk.
But I know the beginning of the new year is when a lot of people decide they want to tackle the weight challenges, be inspired to set weight loss goals and all that jazz.
Call me a glutton for punishment, but I started mine right dead smack in the middle of the holidays. Right after Thanksgiving. A foodies playoff season if you will.
I had enough of only wearing pants with elastic waistlines because I refuse to go buy a bigger size.
I have blamed it on my love for coffee, working at a desk all day, and many other things. But reality it’s me.If I am being honest my love for food is what explains my weight. Point Blank #fitnessjourney Click To Tweet
I am fat (or fatter than I would like to be) because I don’t like working out and I like to eat. That is all.
Whatever. It’s true.I like to eat. Don't like to workout... Plain and simple. Click To Tweet
So I thought I was good and well on my journey, as I had lost 7 lbs between thanksgiving and Christmas. My parents came in town, and just like that, I am back at square one.
I’d like to encourage you to start yours. As I restart mine. If you need to. If you don’t. Who cares. Lol.
I have set my overall goal to be back at the weight I was when I met my honey at the end of that aisle 6 years ago. That means right now I have roughly twenty pounds to lose.
I will lose it. I won’t like the process. But I will love the results.
So to help with accountability, because if you don’t keep up with me, I might fall off, I’m gonna share here. In full transparency.
God help me.
My Fitness Journey Details
In every post I will share the details about where I am, what I have been eating and doing in my workouts, how I am feeling and such.
So here is where I am today:
181. But let me say I was at 177 when my mom got here. I got up to 184, so I am headed back in the right direction.
I am currently working out 3-5 days a week. Attending different classes. My favorites have been zumba, dance, and step classes. While my knees do bother me a bit, I enjoy these classes the most. The gym has changed up the schedule a bit for all the “resolutioners”, so I may be changing my routine up too.
What I’ve been eating
I am eating Quaker Oatmeal cups for breakfast, typically a lean cuisine or something like that for lunch, and then I make a healthy dinner that the whole family can enjoy. But one that doesn’t blow my points out the water, as I am tracking what I eat and such through the weight watchers online program.
Here is where I started:
Working out sporadically, and I do mean very sporadically.
What I had been eating
Eating, any and everything I want. When I want. If I feel sad. When I feel happy. Shoot whenever.
So cheers to making progress.
Me sharing my info is to help me remain accountable and hopefully inspire you to do something and move more if you need to as well.
In future posts I will share pictures. Or maybe occasionally to visually track my progress.
I wanna have good news to give. I invite you to share with me too and let’s hold each other accountable if you want. Or you can just be a silent partner. Read my updates and note yours. If you would rather not share in the comments, feel free to email me and we can stay in touch that way!
