Things Like, Eat. Cook. Build Stuff. Create Stuff. Write Words. Test Your Limits. Make Your House a Home. Let’s just say you’ll be tardy to DIY your and create your BEST life.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO DIY YOUR LIFE?
DIY’ING YOUR LIFE IS ABOUT MAKING ALL THE THINGS YOU LOVE, HAPPEN
We all have goals. Even when we are are in the slumps. A place we all have fallen into in some capacity. I believe that we all want better for ourselves and things around us. But the reality is, we have control over us. Our own selves. What we do. How we think. What we spend our time on. What we eat. What our priorities are. What and who we allow ourselves to become. You DIY your life by focusing on the things that we have control over. Finding our own happy space. And finding joy so we can be more joyful.
ARE YOU READY TO DIY YOUR LIFE?
Hello, I am TaKenya, also known as Kenya Rae.
I am a lover of breakfast. It’s the best meal of the day at any time of the day.
I cook good food. Because I love to eat good food.
I have a lot of random knowledge. And as I learn new things, I like to share the wealth.
I may be a project creator. My home is my canvas.
I AM AN ADMITTED HOME BODY
And for this reason, I love to continually carve out my space to make it as comfortable as it can be. A place filled with warmth, love, and the smell of good food, complete with all of my decorative and personal touches.
I cook. I DIY. and I Blog about it all. Along the way I like to share tips and tricks I have learned in my six years of blogging to help YOU, all to help on your journey too. It’s been said, “When You Learn, Teach…
Through hard work and lots of effort, I am continually figuring out ways to feed my family of 5 healthy, quick meals that don’t break the bank and without taking up all the minutes in my day.
I am making my home into the space my family can be comfortable, make memories and grow into our best selves.
THAT IS HOW I AM DIY’ING MY LIFE!
I have spent the majority of my years on this earth in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. But I am a northern girl transplanted to what feels like my meant-to-be home in the south, in good ol’ North Carolina.
I document my journey with my non-traditional blended family, through my kitchen, and the customizing of our home, and whatever comes up along the way.
It is my souls’ desire to live an Authentic Life and inspire you to do the same.
Ever heard of the gift of transparency? I have it.
While some of you were blessed with amazing singing voices, the ability to create fancy artwork, and the ability to read something and memorize it. I got the gift of transparency.
Once I realized it was a gift. I became dead set on using it.
I will share openly and honestly if that keeps the next lady from making the same mistake, enduring the same pain or battling the same struggle.
I have fought through a lack of confidence, self-doubt, and sometimes even feeling completely defeated. God has blessed me with a beautiful blended family and even saw fit for me to be a mother and wife. It all comes with great responsibility. My greatest blessings are my friends and family, which consists of my husband and three children. My blended family is like no other and I share a bit about it and my love story here.
MY TRANSPARENCY IS MY GIFT
My ultimate goal is to be a role model to my children and a good woman to my longtime best friend and husband. I strive to show my daughter what a good woman looks like, so that she can become her own version of one. I want to model for my boys what they should be looking for when the time comes.
