Today’s quote is nothing profound or majestic, or even from some renowned poet, author or celebrity; it’s just from little ol’ me.
I had the honor and blessing of sitting down with one of my blogger beau’s for lunch the other day. It was so random, but so …. Special. Yet another God orchestrated situation.
We sat and talked like we knew each other all our lives; real life stuff; matters of the heart; struggles in our universes; stuff you don’t just lay out on the table, yet it was our first time meeting.
There were smiles, hugs, tears, food (I told yall I love to eat) and most of all there was LOVE (and y’all know I am a lover of love, right?). From one young woman to another – Love, Support and Genuine concern and care for what we were talking about.
As we talked and revealed our stuff and peeled back some of our layers, once again God revealed to me that we all have our “stuff”, we all have our “things” that we are working through, and we are all just HUMAN.
With the baggage our lives have packed up and drug along with us, we are still children of the most high with a priority place on his list of cares. There is nothing too big that the Lord can’t heal us from and if we don’t allow him to do just that we give the devil a closet to keep us in.
I say all this to say, that no matter what you are carrying around in those bags of yours, you are not broken, you are human; and God loves you (and me) still.
The devil would like you to believe that you have too much “stuff” to take to the lord, but in those times of brokenness God is right there with you, ready to save you and make you brand new.
Take the time to unpack yours bags, forgive yourself, let yourself be loved or whatever it is that you need to do, and move forward in the blessings and promises of God!
Everything that my friend shared with me on that day, I took to the altar and prayed a sincere prayer for her.
What good are we to each other if we can’t intercede in prayer for each other when we don’t know how or what to pray for ourselves.
I prayed to God for friends that were Godly and who will pray with and for me, and he has been just overwhelming me with the people he is placing in my life. I know that the things I have made it through in recent times were because my friends were truly praying for me and helping me unpack my bags, and help me put together my broken pieces.
You’re not broken, you are human… Kenya Rae
Today, I am grateful that I was able to speak words of encouragement to her and remind her of who she belongs to, cause not too long ago someone was speaking those same words to me; and I may need that reminder again soon, this life is not always easy….no matter what you are carrying around in those bags of yours, you are not broken...
