In 2016 I decided that I really wanted to push myself. Because of that I know that 2017 will be one of my best years yet, regardless of how it turns out.
My plan is to operate in the purpose that God has for my life, and THAT, my friends, has me super excited!
At the end of 2015, I shared that my word for 2016 would be P.U.S.H or Pray Until Something Happens.
I loved this word for the dual meaning and my need for both. A decrease in giving up on things when they get hard. An increase in prayer and praying about those things that I want to give up on.
I truly believe that setting a word for the year, truly helps to set the tone. Get focused. Set goals. And actually SMASH those thangs!
This year has been a very interesting one. Back in June I shared the progress that had been made so far.
5 things that manifested change through the first half of the year
Having Regular Prayer Dates With My Old Man
Having a Prayer Partner
Growing Closer to My Teen Daughter
Coming Into a Collaborative Relationship with another Faith Based Entrepreneur
Counseling with a Christian Counselor
That was only half way through and I don’t know about you, but all of that blew me away.
Since then, there has been even more.
In the earlier part of the year (probably March if I had to guess) I spoke to the old man about the idea of packing up and moving out of state.
What some of you may not know is that I suffer from seasonal depression and the winters in Cleveland are BRUTAL. It was progressively getting worse and worse for me, which really meant for us.
The idea of moving wasn’t out of left field. It was a goal of ours. But one we did not know how we would be able to accomplish. I shared about how we got to the end space here, which was the decision to actually do it.
Putting our house on the market, quitting our “good” jobs, and packing our blended family up and heading out of the state. To North Carolina.
In addition to that, my family has began to end each day together in prayer before going to bed. Can you say check! This was one of my goals with choosing this word.
It started with hubby and the youngest. They would pray before bedtime at the request of the toddler. Crazy, right?
When we moved, the boys shared a room, so prayer time would happen between the three of them. Then hubby and I would have our own time. Eventually, hubby started summoning all of the kids when the boys would go to bed. Even the the little lady had a later bedtime, she knew that at their bed time she had to pause for prayer time. And I was the last to get invited. LOL.
None-the-less it manifested into family prayer time.
Those are two things of the 7 on my list.
Here is my complete list:
Business Income from My Blog
While I didn’t replace my income, I had a couple of sponsored campaigns for the first time, and I began to sell physical products on the site. If you haven’t already, you can check out the store here.
A greater ability to handle my toddler
Sounds crazy. But a strong willed toddler with a mother who lacks any trace of patience is not a good combination. Makes for a very strong father-son bond. As a result of the move, I have become a WAHM. This has forced me to figure it out. How to manage him and to strengthen my patience muscle. Still a ways to go, but progress has been made.
Growth in my prayer life
While I still lack consistency. Growth is apparent. And progress over perfection is always a win. As of recently I have been waking up early to get my quiet time in. While I don’t have a routine (yet). I love having my quiet time.
I really just want quality over quantity when it comes to friends. And while I didn’t realize that meant that God would start moving people out right away, he has. It has created a fairly lonely space at times, but it draws me nearer to him. Not a coincidence, I am sure.
An overall increase in faith and trusting God
When I looked at my list, I was blown away. The whole leap of faith that we took with relocating is the greatest way that I am fully relying on the lord. Neither of us have found full time employment as of yet, but great things have been happening. And while it is a little scary at times. My faith muscle is being stretched exponentially.
My word for this year, has created massive change in my life. Far more than any resolution that I have ever made. I can’t wait to share my word for 2017!
