Hey there baby girl!
I write this letter to you, not to change your path. But to hopefully ease your mind and assure you that each day is a new day to try to get it right.
I give you this as a reflection of what my belief in the one true God and my faith has taught me along my way. My prayer is that it comforts you, explains love, gives you peace, hope and confidence that equips you to be the person God intended for you to be.
Let me tell you that I didn’t get it until I got older. So I don’t tell you this as if I have done everything the right way, but instead I speak through the experiences and lessons life has offered me.
Early on, I would look to any and everything for advice, help, and resolutions to my issues, problems and feelings. It wasn’t until later that I realize that God and his word addressed everything I had been going through and feeling. It would behoove you to discover that as your option early on.
I wish I could tell you that life will be easy and that everything will go your way. But it won’t. And that is merely because our lives are really not about us as hard as that is for us to wrap our minds around most times. God created us for his purposes and to glorify him, but he always makes himself readily available to us in the good and even the troubling times.Faith Changes Reality Click To Tweet
Here are two things that I hope you grasp at minimum, they led to a lot of struggles for me.
Just because your father was not present does not mean you are without a father. You may feel like you are missing out on some of the things that others that have their dads present have, but God has other plans for you and your life. The good news is that Psalm 68:5 tells us he is a father to the fatherless and Psalm 27:10 tells us that even if our biological parents abandon us, God still considers us his very own.
Talk to him and call on him often, you will find he is a friend even when others you think are your friends don’t act like it.
It took me a while to fully grasp these concepts, but when I did, I began to have peace with things that were beyond my control.
Outside of those two things, understand that being a Christian won’t make life easier, but it will give you the strength to push through and hope to continue on.
Believe in yourself, love yourself and carry yourself as such. God made you just the way he wanted and needed you to be, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
But even more importantly is that you love others. 1 John 3:18 tells us that Love is an action word. Help others; be nice to others; consider others; even when they don’t do the same. God commands it. It is so much easier said than done at times, but try and then try again. The return that you get is far beyond anything you imagined. All people have something good in them and if you look for that in each and every one, it makes it easier to love them.
Everyone older than you won’t always be wise.
Age does not necessarily equal wisdom; rather life’s experience lends wisdom to each of us. Learn and then teach from experience and from the heart.
It will be an investment in making others around you better as you continue to learn, grow and better yourself.Everyone older than you won’t always be wise.... Click To Tweet
Be the kind of woman that others can’t help but to respect and hold high.
Work hard, love hard and be authentic as the woman found in Proverbs 31. You don’t have to wait to be a wife to demonstrate these characteristics. Dress for the job you want later, even on today.
And if and when you do become a wife, let Ephesians 5:21-33 be your guide. It tells you what a godly husband looks like and what a godly wife is as well. In times of uncertainty, let it be your guide and let your marriage truly glorify God.
At this point my greatest lesson learned is to give God the praise and the Glory always. When you are jolly and when you are down, he deserves it even still. All things in life have a divine purpose. Even though we have a hard time seeing the good in what we deem as bad, count it all joy. Rely on the Lord as he has a plan far greater than you could have ever imagined.
At the end of the day walking with and believing in the works of the Lord is the only thing that can give you true peace in your time here on earth.
Lastly, I say to you that your journey is your journey alone. As God put us all here for a purpose, none of us will travel the exact same path. So be sure to not stop and compare what others journey appears to be, cause it’s never what it seems. Enjoy your journey and embrace it with all your being.
Faith changes reality, it is just that powerful and wonderful. Embrace it and live it.
With all my heart and love,
