Last year, I did the word of the year exercise and was feeling really good about it. I did the worksheet, picked my word and then….forgot about it! But much to my surprise, I actually made great strides with my word when I was reminded to go back and take a look at it. I think its a great tool and here’s why.

Graduation season is a time filled with excitement, hope and even transition. When I graduated, there were some words I now realize I needed to hear. You don’t get do-overs in life, but you do have the opportunity to reflect and make change through your reflections. This is what I would say to myself, now knowing what I know about life.
I was born my mother’s daughter. A light skinned, long haired little girl with ponytails who would cry if I got dirty outside and demand to be changed – to start fresh. I grew into an awkward child, taller than most my age, shapely at a young age, and with a gap in my teeth that mimicked those before me on my mother’s side. But who is B?
