You may not have known but the Amazon Associates Affiliate program is offering 12% commission on native shopping ads in the month of April. To learn more about the promotion you can head over and read up on the deets.
If you are wondering what that means, let me break it down… It means, there is a chance to make some extra coins chile.
The normal rates: For the first one to six sales, commission is paid at 4 percent of the product’s price. At seven to 30 sales, commission increases to 6 percent. Between 31 and 110 sales, you’ll earn 6.5 percent, between 111 and 320 sales you’ll get 7 percent and between 321 and 630 you’ll earn 7.5 percent.

Setting Up Amazon Native Shopping Ads
1. Login to your Amazon Associates (affiliate) account.
If you don’t have an affiliate’s account you can sign up for one here.
2. On the navigation bar hover over product linking. Select native shopping ads.
Now let me stop and give you some descriptions here. Amazon has three types of ads to choose from. This is the difference:
These ad types allow you to automatically display relevant product recommendations from Amazon based on your page content and visiting users.
That means you are not specifically setting the items in these ads.
They are probably the fastest ones to create but the least customized by you. You have the option to display them as a grid or list, and to select categories that Amazon will pull from. And you can put a default search keyword in which will help amazon guide when it is unsure of what to add.
Search ads include product recommendations based on search phrases or keywords that are selected by you or entered by your visitors.
With these you select a default category, a default search term and then amazon does the rest. It’s more specific than recommendation ads, but not as specific as custom ads.
These ads are just what they say. They let you choose exactly what you want to display. You can search for specific products and include them in your ad selection.
With the three different ad types it depends on your objectives as to which one you use. I strongly suggest you know how to use them all as they all serve a purpose at one time or another.
3. Select your ad type and configure with the required fields.

4. Configure Advanced settings
Amazon does not let you customize these as much as I would like. For example changing the link colors and such to match your branding. But they do allow some customizations. Here are my suggestions on those:
Amazon lets you choose whether you want it to be responsive or a set size.
I strongly suggest that you leave it at responsive as this will adjust to the screen size and device that your readers are on.
Show Search Bar
This is where you decide whether or not to show the search bar within your ad.
90% of the time, I do not show the search bar. Unless you are doing a search ad, I prefer to leave the search bar off because it looks less spammy looking to me. That is totally a personal opinion though. Do what you wish and get your coins!
Search Bar Placement
This is all contingent on what you selected in the last option. If you choose to display the search bar, Amazon lets you choose whether it is above the content or below.
Once you have completed those steps your ad is ready now you need to get it to your blog post.
Putting Amazon Associates Shopping Ads In Your Blog Post
1. Go to the space that says Copy Ad Code and click the Highlight Ad Code button
This copies the entire ad code that you will need to put into you post
In this example I did a search ad for apple watches and I customized the Title to read “shop apple watches” and removed the search bar.
The pink area is the code that you are going to place into your post. To ensure you copy all the code, you want to use the highlight ad code button seen above. Right click and select copy or go up to the main menu and select edit>copy.
2. Go to your blog post that you want to display the ad code in. In the TEXT/HTML version, select the space that you want it to displayed and insert the code by pasting it there.
3. Save the draft.
You will notice if you go back into the visual editor that the ad does not display but there should be a “play” symbol in its space. That is where the code is. If you select “preview post” from your draft, in the preview your ad will display as it will when the post goes live.
- Do not close out of it on Amazon until you are sure it looks the way that you want. If you do, you will have to start over as it will not save them for you.
- If you want to find specific products for custom ads. Open another window and find the products you want on amazon and then search them in the ad space exactly as it displays on Amazon.
